BOARD ELECTION
CCHSC is the Community Action Agency that administers the Community Services Block Grant for Berkeley County. It is now administering the grant once operated by Berkeley - Dorchester Economic Development Corporation. The Office of Economic Opportunity in the Govenor's office oversees the grant for the State of South Carolina.
The agency has a nine member board of directors with three representatives from the private sector, three from the public sector, and three representatives that advocate for the low-income residents of the counties served by the agency.
The board meets every other month (six times a year) on the third Tuesday at twelve noon, in the main office at 1069 King Street in Charleston. The directors volunteer their time and are not paid for their services.
